Who is most likely to break character on stage?

We win as a team, we lose as a team. If one of us breaks, all of us will break. But you know what? That’s the beauty of live theatre. And if a show can do that to the performers - where even they after weeks of rehearsals are still impacted by the story - it means the show has been written perfectly.

The King's Head Theatre is known for its intimate atmosphere — how does that shape this production?

There’s nowhere to hide. And I can’t wait to see the reaction in people’s faces. I already know there’ll probably be a Karen on the front row rolling her eyes. That will send me!

Does the closeness of the audience make it more thrilling… or more dangerous?

It makes it all the more thrilling! You’re immersed in the action. It’s not for the weak, and we make no apologies. You’ll have a lovely view of… um… everything that we can offer.

Derrière on a G String promises “raucous” and “unexpected” — what’s the first thing audiences would never guess about this show?

That for the auditions we had to pretend to be exhibitionists with a bunch of strangers!

How would you describe the show in three wildly different words?

Technical, hysterical, quintessential

What was your initial reaction when you read the script or heard the concept?

I hope I book this job!

Without spoilers, what moment do you think will have audiences talking all the way home?

The brilliant cast

This is billed as a comedy dance sensation — what’s more challenging: nailing the choreography or keeping a straight face?

Can I say trying to do both at the same time? One is as hard as the other in moments!

Comedy often relies on timing — how did you build that rhythm together as a cast?

I think all of us are naturally quite funny which definitely helped. Along with the direction from Alfie it was a simple process!

Who is most likely to break character on stage?

Courtney… but the truth is his character is pretty much him in real life!

The King's Head Theatre is known for its intimate atmosphere — how does that shape this production?

I think it really helps to bring the audience in to the show and feel like they’re part of the story themselves

Does the closeness of the audience make it more thrilling… or more dangerous?

Simple answer to that… BOTH!

Derrière on a G String promises “raucous” and “unexpected” — what’s the first thing audiences would never guess about this show?

Well, I bet you’d never guess that our first day together… our break the ice session… was all of us stripping naked and lathering ourselves in baby oil.

How would you describe the show in three wildly different words?

Audacious, relatable, quirky

What was your initial reaction when you read the script or heard the concept?

It was genuinely one of bewilderment. I never thought something like this would appear on a stage in London… and I certainly didn’t expect to be playing a part in it. But here we are. And may I just say, I’m sooooo happy that this is appearing on a stage. Regular theatre goers have never seen anything like it!

Without spoilers, what moment do you think will have audiences talking all the way home?

The thing I was talking about on the way home after every rehearsals was the dance section set in a swimming pool’s changing room. The next time you’re at the baths, you’ll be checking over your shoulder.

This is billed as a comedy dance sensation — what’s more challenging: nailing the choreography or keeping a straight face?

For me, I’d say the dancing. There are some stunning dancers in the cast and it has been a blessing to watch them, learn from them, and try to match them… I hope I’ve not just jinxed it and start laughing mid-show now!

Comedy often relies on timing — how did you build that rhythm together as a cast?

I think having a cast of only 6 has really helped that. We’ve grown really close as a company, and some I knew before from dance class, so we are all in the same wavelength. And as actors, I have so much admiration for everyone. They give me so much to work with which makes bouncing energy off of them so easy.

What has surprised you most about working on this production?

This production has been the best example of where the storytelling matters even more so than just the dance routine. And that is something that I truly embrace as an actor. My favourite moments in a show have never been someone doing 50 spins or singing to the point a window breaks. It’s about making the audience feel something. Whether that results in laughing, crying or - as it will probably be in this show - a combination of both!
